Who we are HiringXray is a browser extension and website operated by Bolle Media Limited, based in the United Kingdom. Our website is hiringxray.com. You can contact us at hello@hiringxray.com.
Overview HiringXray is designed with privacy by default. The extension processes job listing data entirely within your browser. No personal data is collected, transmitted or stored on any external server by us.
What data the extension stores The extension stores the following data locally on your device using Chrome’s built-in storage API:
- Job listing details you have scanned (title, company name, URL, posted date, salary information)
- Scan dates — when you first and last scanned a listing
- Risk scores and signals generated for each listing
This data exists solely to power the repost detection and job history features. It never leaves your device and is never accessible to us.
What we do not do
- We do not collect your name, email address or any personal information
- We do not track your browsing history or behaviour
- We do not sell, share or transmit any data to third parties
- We do not use advertising, tracking pixels or analytics within the extension
- We do not have access to your locally stored scan history
Data retention Scan history is stored locally on your device until you clear it manually or uninstall the extension. As this data never reaches our servers, we have no ability to access, modify or delete it on your behalf. Uninstalling the extension permanently removes all stored data from your device.
Third party services The extension uses only Chrome’s built-in storage API. No third party analytics, advertising or tracking SDKs are included in the extension.
The hiringxray.com website is hosted on WordPress.com. Standard WordPress.com analytics may record anonymised visitor numbers such as page views. No personally identifiable information is collected through the website. For full details of WordPress.com’s data practices, see their privacy policy at wordpress.com/privacy.
Legal basis for processing (UK GDPR) Where applicable under UK GDPR, our legal basis for local data storage is legitimate interests — specifically, enabling you to detect reposted, evergreen and phantom job listings through your personal scan history. This data is processed entirely on your own device and is not accessible to us.
Your rights under UK GDPR You have the following rights in relation to your data:
- The right to access data held about you
- The right to correct inaccurate data
- The right to erasure of your data
- The right to restrict or object to processing
As all extension data is stored locally on your device, you can exercise these rights directly by clearing the extension’s storage within Chrome settings or by uninstalling the extension entirely. For any other privacy requests or questions, contact us at [your email address].
Children HiringXray is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect or store data from children. If you believe a child has used the extension, please contact us and we will provide guidance on removing locally stored data.
Changes to this policy We may update this policy from time to time to reflect changes in the extension’s functionality or legal requirements. The current version will always be available at hiringxray.com/privacy-policy. Continued use of the extension following any update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
